Daylight has been awarded an $80,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Daylight Community Arts Foundation (DCAF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to publishing in-depth photographic essays on important issues of the day via Daylight Magazine (print) and Daylight Multimedia (online). By reimagining the documentary mode through collaboration with established and emerging artists, scholars and journalists, Daylight has become one of the premier showcases for contemporary photography. The Daylight Daily Blog lists opportunities for photographers as well as exhibition/book reviews and compelling art criticism from around the globe.
In addition, DCAF seeks to help underrepresented communities share their stories by distributing cameras, establishing darkroom and digital imaging facilities, administering photographic workshops, and curating local and traveling exhibitions. Ultimately, DCAF’s goal is to provide these communities with access to the resources and equipment necessary to participate in the global visual dialogue.
